Two companies, Circuit Controls Corporation in Bear Creek Township, Michigan and North American Lighting in Farmington Hills, will invest a combined $28.6 million to expand operations and create 112 jobs with assistance of Michigan Strategic Funds.

“These expansions in our automotive and IT sectors highlight Michigan’s leadership in making things and making things work better,” said MEDC President and CEO Michael A. Finney. “These projects all mean more jobs and greater economic opportunities for people across Michigan.” The Michigan Strategic Fund approved incentives that are expected to create 112 jobs in the state.

Michigan Economic Development Corporation said the Michigan Strategic Fund approved incentives for the following projects:

Circuit Controls Corporation, a manufacturer of automotive electrical terminals, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based Yazaki Corporation. The company is planning to expand its manufacturing facility in Bear Creek Township to support new business.

The $21.7 million project will result in the creation of 36 jobs. The firm received a Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant of $180,000. This investment along with the state’s support helps to ensure the long-term viability of the company’s continued expansion in Bear Creek Township. In addition, the township has offered a tax abatement estimated at $719,000.

North American Lighting, Inc., headquartered in Illinois, manufactures automotive lighting equipment. The company plans to lease a larger facility and expand engineering and sales operations in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The project will generate up to $6.8 million and create a total of 76 new jobs, resulting in a $300,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. In addition, the City of Farmington Hills has offered a property tax abatement related to the project.
