Cypress Creek Renewables Investing In Darlington County, South Carolina, Solar Projects
10/15/2015
Primarily focused on two to 10 megawatt utility scale projects, Cypress is working with regulators, utilities and business development groups throughout the United States to build more than one gigawatt of new solar projects between now and the end of 2016. The Darlington County solar facility will be located off of Gilchrist Road and will produce 10 megawatts of energy at full capacity. Ten megawatts of solar energy is enough to provide inexpensive, secure, clean energy to approximately 2,000 South Carolina homes.
“We are thrilled with this opportunity to bring a stable, clean source of energy to Darlington County. Cypress is making the investment in this project because we believe in the value of our partnership with this community,” said Cypress Creek Renewables CEO Matthew McGovern.
“We’re excited to see Cypress Creek continue to invest in our state and our people. We have worked extremely hard to build a business environment in South Carolina that is open to all kinds of companies, and we look forward to seeing both Cypress Creek and the renewable energy industry grow here in the future,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“Cypress Creek Renewables’ investment in solar power in Darlington County is consistent with our commitment to environmentally clean growth. Positive economic opportunity, sustainable energy and a clean environment is a winning combination,” Darlington County Economic Development Partnership Executive Director Frank Willis explained.
