08/24/2015
The company’s 25,000 square foot facility located at 3400 Rivergreen Ct., Suite 400 in Duluth will be the company’s Center of Parts & Service Excellence for the Americas and will also house some significant manufacturing operations as the company expands its position into the liquid packaging markets in Canada, the United States, Caribbean, Mexico and South America.
“Tech-Long has aggressive growth plans in the Americas and we are constantly releasing new product innovations of interest to the America’s market,” said Keith Boss, CEO of Tech-Long USA.
“This expansion reinforces our position as a global leader in the packaging equipment industry. We are looking forward to bringing further investment and new competencies to the local area and to contributing to the economy here in the City of Duluth and Gwinnett County,” he added.
Tech-Long plans to hire 130 employees over 10 years. The company’s expansion includes manufacturing components and replacement parts for its machinery and possibly manufacturing consumable beverage products.
“Having one of the largest beverage packaging equipment manufacturers choosing Georgia to grow their business in the Americas is proof that our unrivaled logistics infrastructure is a magnet for international companies,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Chris Carr. “I applaud the Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development team for leading a delegation to China to strengthen their relationships in this dynamically growing market.”
“Gwinnett County is the ideal location for global businesses looking to expand in the U.S,” said Gwinnett County Commissioner Jace Brooks. “This expansion is a testament to our dynamic workforce and opportunities for innovation that exist in this community. We look forward to Tech-Long’s continued growth.”
The company’s recent introduction of its G-5 Rotary Stretch Blow Molding machine which produces PET bottles at speeds of 2,400 bottles per hour, per cavity on machines ranging from 6 to 32 cavities, is among the world’s fastest bottling equipment.
“Our technology, engineering and performance are world-class. Competitively priced machinery, service and spare parts are driving our growth and are responsible for our expansion and new facility in Gwinnett County", said Boss.
“Gwinnett County continues to be a strong draw for companies like Tech-Long,” said Nick Masino, Senior Vice President of Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development. “It’s another example of community attracting diverse companies from around the world as a place where they can invest and grow.”
“We are pleased that Tech-Long has decided to expand operations in Gwinnett,” said Jorge Fernandez, Vice President of Global Commerce at Metro Atlanta Chamber. “Maintaining close ties to China and to companies like Tech-Long is central to our growth strategy for our region and it is through collaboration with our partners that these success stories continue to happen.”
