The RND Group Invests $1.3 Million To Expand Its Indianapolis, Indiana, Operations Center
12/11/2012
RND, which has 27 employees and plans to nearly double its workforce, provides full-life cycle engineering services to companies who are developing products, like microprocessors, requiring custom software. The company said it plans to continue to fill additional software development positions on an ongoing basis.
“RND Group is thrilled to be expanding in Indianapolis,” said Tim DeFrench, president of RND. “Indiana’s low-cost of doing business, and excellent supply of high caliber life sciences talent, have created an environment where our company can continue to thrive and grow.”
“We’re excited that RND has chosen Indiana as a fixture in its long-term business plans and look forward to watching them continue to expand in the future,” said Dan Hasler, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
As an incentive, Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered The RND Group, Inc. up to $700,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. In addition, the city of Indianapolis approved additional tax abatement at the request of Develop Indy.
“RND is renowned worldwide for its expertise in specialized medical software and business solutions. We are thankful for its investment in Indianapolis, which demonstrates the strength of our growing IT sector,” said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. “Our skilled and educated workforce, coupled with university support and a business-friendly climate, has created a dynamic presence of leading life sciences companies here. We look forward to partnering with RND in the future and wish the company the best on its continued success.”
