Software Developer Stardock Systems Expanding Michigan HQ

Stardock Systems, a software and computer gaming development company, will invest $900,000 to expand its headquarters facility in Plymouth, Michigan, according to the Michigan governor's office. The company expects to create at least 53 new jobs as part of the expansion. According to Michigan news website, Stardock is best known for its graphical user interface, a software package that allows PC users to change the way Windows XP and Vista look and function, and its computer games, such as the award-winning Sins of a Solar Empire. The governor's office says Michigan won the project over sites in New York, Washington, and California. The state has awarded the company a $1.2 million tax credit over 10 years, along with additional incentives that are specific to film and digital media companies; local tax abatements are also under consideration.
