Governor's Letter
Oct/Nov 07
Greetings to the readers of Area Development magazine. As you look through these pages, I am certain it will become clear why California is the best location for you and your business.
Now, if you love the fresh air and the great outdoors, California is the place for you. If you love the culture and energy of the big city, California is also the place for you. And, if you love the excitement of emerging industries, tremendous opportunities for job growth, and access to one of the world's largest economies, then California is definitely the place for you.
As governor, I have worked tirelessly to create an ideal business climate in the Golden State. Since I took office four years ago, we have created 850,000 new jobs, businesses are saving billions of dollars thanks to historic Workers' Compensation reforms, and I have consistently vetoed bills that would hinder job growth. I have also supported California's spirit of innovation, helping to put us at the forefront of cutting-edge industries like clean tech, biotech, nanotech, and stem cell research. And our expansive ports and international border make our state a hub for the world's goods and services.
California has everything you need to make your company thrive, and I know we will continue on this prosperous path for many years to come. California is open for business. Are you?
Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger
