New Zealand-based Mobile Mentor Chooses Tennessee for United States Operations

04/23/2018
New Zealand-based Mobile Mentor, Inc., part of Mobile Mentor Limited, will locate its first United States facility in Nashville, Tennessee. The mobile solutions company plans to create 110 new jobs and invest approximately $2 million in Davidson County.

The company will focus solely on health care in Nashville for the first few years. Mobile Mentor plans on locating its new operations in an existing location in Nashville’s West End neighborhood. With this new location, the company will be better equipped to provide service to its North American customers.

“Mobile Mentor has chosen Nashville as the base for our U.S. business due to the proximity to the leading health care service providers,” Mobile Mentor CEO Denis O’Shea said. “We are delighted to be part of the thriving community of health care innovators and we look forward to working closely with the industry leaders.”

“It speaks volumes to our strong workforce and business-friendly environment that Mobile Mentor has chosen our state as the location for the company’s first U.S. facility,” Governor Bill Haslam said. “I thank Mobile Mentor for its decision to create these 110 new jobs in Nashville. This is a win for our state and shows that Tennessee will lead in creating high-quality jobs.”

“We are most grateful to Mobile Mentor for making the decision to locate its first U.S. facility in Nashville and for creating 110 new high-quality jobs in Davidson County,”, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “Tennessee continues to be a leader in foreign direct investment thanks to international companies like Mobile Mentor. We look forward to working with Mobile Mentor to insure a long-term partnership with the State of Tennessee and TNECD.”

"These jobs will present great opportunities in Nashville's expanding tech workforce for our residents," Nashville Mayor David Briley said. "I’m excited to see Mobile Mentor investing in our great city."

“TVA and Nashville Electric Service congratulate Mobile Mentor on its decision to locate its new operations in Nashville,” said TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley. “Helping to attract and retain jobs is fundamental to TVA’s mission of service and we are proud to partner with Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to help further that mission.”
