FMC Technologies Plans Service-Sales Facility In Brighton, Colorado
02/05/2014
The project will include construction of a 50,000 square foot facility to be located at 1571 County Road 27, just west of Vestas in Brighton, Colorado. According to Metro Denver officials the project is located in Weld County in an area known as the Energy Employment Corridor and state Enterprise Zone.
John Deiss, FMC Technologies' Property Development Manager said, "FMC Technologies is pleased to be locating our latest Colorado facility in Brighton. This location is ideally suited to help us meet the growing needs of our customers in the area. The new facility will provide us with a single location that allows three of our businesses to work together more closely to ensure customer success."
The project is an expansion of FMC Technologies' current Colorado operations, with initial staffing at the new facility to include 66 employees, Metro Denver said. The company plans to further expand operations and add more than 50 jobs during the next five years.
The Colorado Economic Development Commission approved FMC Technologies' application for $532,440 in performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credits over a 60 month period. Colorado's JGITC Program provides state income tax credits to businesses undertaking job creation projects in the state. To qualify for the JGITC program businesses need to create at least 20 new jobs in Colorado, with an average yearly wage of at least 110 percent of the county average wage rate based on where the business is located.
The FMC Technologies project will also be located in a Colorado Enterprise Zone and will be eligible for benefits under the EZ Program. All new jobs created must be maintained for at least one year after the positions are hired to qualify for either State Incentive Program.
"The Brighton EDC has been working with FMC Technologies since late 2012 and these are the kinds of projects we love to bring to Brighton... good paying jobs with benefits; solid capital investment; and attracting a great company like FMC Technologies to join our community. This project will pay dividends for Brighton for years to come,” Brighton EDC Chair, James Vigesaa said.
"The expansion of FMC Technologies and the addition of new high paying jobs is great news for Colorado and for the Brighton community," said Gov. John Hickenlooper. "Companies like FMC continue to recognize the strong industry ecosystem in Colorado and we're delighted they chose to expand here to support even further growth."
Brighton EDC, Upstate Colorado, Metro Denver EDC, Colorado's Office of Economic Development and International Trade and Atlas Insight, LLC assisted FMC Technologies through the site selection process.
