04/10/2014
The $4.2 million investment will allow the company to renovate and expand into a 168,000 square foot building, creating 300 new jobs in Lexington County during the next three years.
"Supporting our local community with more jobs is on the forefront of priorities for Palmetto State Armory. Palmetto State Armory was founded in South Carolina with a set of core family values and it is of the utmost importance to us to continue to support our in-state family,” Palmetto State Armory Chief Marketing Officer Adam Ruonala said.
"Here in the Central SC Region, companies that are engaged in manufacturing and distribution have all the tools to support continued growth and success. Palmetto State Armory is a homegrown company that was founded just a few short years ago by individuals with a passion for business, their country and their home state of South Carolina. They have discovered that there is no better place to start, grow and expand a business than right here in the Palmetto State. We congratulate everyone involved in assisting the company with today's announcement,” said Central SC Alliance Chairman Mike Brenan.
"We are pleased that Palmetto State Armory has decided to expand in Lexington County. The strong workforce in the county will provide the company with the skills and manpower necessary to continue to grow its manufacturing operations and further its warehousing capabilities. The county's pro-business philosophy also serves as a driving force to continued development in this area of the county,” Johnny Jeffcoat, Chairman of Lexington County Council.
"Palmetto State Armory is a valued member of South Carolina's thriving business community and we celebrate their decision to continue to grow their economic footprint in our state. Their $4.2 million investment in Lexington County, creating 300 new jobs, will have a significant impact on our growing workforce,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
"South Carolina is known for making things, and making them well. PSA's decision to expand its production operations here builds on our state's manufacturing renaissance and creates well-paying jobs that will have an impact in Lexington County now and for years to come,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
