08/05/2013
Located in the Hamilton, Ontario region, the project will create 50 jobs, while enabling the company to retain 70 more. The new, modern centre will be the design and manufacturing hub for the Degrémont ion exchange system which is used to soften and treat water.
“We appreciate the Ontario government’s commitment to this project. Our new Ancaster facility will anchor the water ion exchange technology in Ontario and help us become a frontrunner in process water technologies,” Andrew Reed, President and CEO, Degrémont Industrial Solutions Business Unit said.
The centre will also provide support for sales teams around the world and keep staff apprised of the latest technological and R&D developments to ensure global competitiveness. Providing the right climate to attract investment, create jobs and grow the economy is part of the new Ontario government's plan to build a prosperous and fair province for all Ontarians, according to local economic development officials.
“Ontario is one of the global leaders in developing clean water innovation and management. Our government is proud to support this investment, which will further strengthen our province’s clean water technologies, while creating good jobs for the people of Ancaster,” Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Employment said.
“We are pleased that Anderson Water Systems chose to invest in Ontario. This expansion project means 120 people in Ancaster will have jobs to support their families,” Ted McMeekin, Member Provincial Parliament for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale said.
