Performance Food Group Company Expands Hamblen County, Tennessee, Operations

12/26/2024
Food and foodservice distribution company Performance Food Group plans to expand its operations in Hamblen County, Tennessee. The approximately $33.2 million project is expected to create roughly 40 jobs.

The investment will take place at the company’s existing facility at 5262 Air Park Boulevard.

“PFG has a strong history in East Tennessee, and we remain committed to investing in the local community and its residents. This expansion is an important step to providing our customers more product options while continuing to provide the world-class service PFG is known for,” Barry Dorris, Regional President, PFG said.

Performance Food Group markets and delivers food and related products to independent and chain restaurants; businesses, schools and healthcare facilities; vending and office coffee service distributors; and big box retailers, theaters and convenience stores. The company currently operates 150 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

“East Tennessee’s economy is booming with nearly 25 new economic development projects and more than 4,700 jobs landing in this region since 2023. Today’s announcement will contribute to that growth, and we know that Hamblen County’s proximity to two-year, four-year and technical institutions will provide PFG with a ready-and-able workforce,” TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter noted.

“TVA and Morristown Utilities congratulate PFG on its decision to expand operations in Hamblen County. It’s always an exciting day when we can celebrate a company’s commitment to continued growth in the region. We are proud to partner with the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to support companies like PFG, and we look forward to its continued business success,” John Bradley, TVA senior vice president of economic development, added.
