North Carolina Manufacturer Expanding, Adding 65 Jobs

07/20/2009
Yale Industrial Products Inc., a manufacturer of material-handling products, will invest $3 million to expand its operations in Wadesboro, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company plans to create 65 new jobs at an average annual salary of $37,031 plus benefits. Yale Industrial Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbus McKinnon Corporation, which manufactures hoists, trolleys, cranes, and similar equipment. "We considered the safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer-oriented culture of the work force at our Wadesboro operation," says Gene Buer, a Columbus McKinnon vice president. "Combining those factors, along with a strong leadership team and experience in building wire roping hoists, we have all the right ingredients for success in today's demading business environment." The company will receive a $116,300 grant from the state, contingent on investment and job creation, that will be matched by local governments.
