08/01/2024
The investment will include the construction of a new warehouse and the expansion of yard storage to house materials and spare parts, as well as the acquisition of a modular transporter to facilitate the movement of parts and materials.
“This expansion will deepen the company’s roots in the state and extend our partnership to a new level,” said HD-HPT President and Chief Operating Officer C.G. Son. “HD-HPT began operations in Montgomery in 2011, and this expansion marks another exciting chapter for the area. HD-HPT’s Alabama facility, the first U.S. production plant for South Korea’s electric power industry, currently employs 426 people and produces power transformers annually for the U.S. market.”
Hyundai Power Transformers USA, Inc. offers a range of transformers including oil immersed, dry type, cast resin, and special types.
“We have worked hard to develop long-lasting relationships with Korean companies, so it’s great to see HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA, Inc., move ahead with a plan to expand the production capabilities of its Montgomery facility,” noted Noted Ellen McNair, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. “This expansion will serve to deepen the company’s roots in the state and extend our partnership to a new level.”
“HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA, Inc., is part of Montgomery’s robust industrial sector that is demonstrating a strong commitment to community development and economic expansion within our capital city,” added Montgomery Area Chamber President & CEO Anna Buckalew. “This company is among an expanding roster of international investments and confidence in the region.”
