Area Development Online News Desk (11/17/2009)
Consumer products manufacturer Conair will locate a national product return center in Glendale, Arizona, according to the Arizona Republic. The New Jersey-headquartered company plans to create 150 jobs over the next year, with plans for eventual expansion to 350 jobs. The Republic reports that Conair recently purchased a 619,000-square-foot industrial building for $17.4 million to house the return center, which will sort and re-tool merchandise returned by customers; Conair already has a distribution center in nearby in Glendale. The new facility is expected to begin operations in January 2010, with hiring to take place throughout the year; Steve Alley, a company spokesperson, tells the Republic that there is no established timeline for the hiring of the first 150 or the remaining 200.
