Bocchi Laboratories Invests $20 Million In New Albany, Ohio, Manufacturing Plant
05/21/2014
“We are excited by the opportunity to expand beyond our home state of California,” said Joe Pender, President/CEO, Bocchi Laboratories. “There were many factors about the Columbus Region that made this expansion the right decision for us, including the Region’s prime access to the eastern United States and a very favorable tax and labor climate.”
“The New Albany International Beauty Campus will benefit from Bocchi Laboratories’ expansion,” said Jennifer Chrysler, Community Development Director, City of New Albany. “We’ll be excited to welcome Bocchi Laboratories and we’re proud of the numerous health, beauty and personal care manufacturers located on our campus.”
The California-based company’s investment will bring 300 jobs to the Region, and is contingent upon approval of incentives from the City of New Albany, according to Columbus 2020, a public-private partnership that leverages the strengths of the Columbus Region’s talented workforce, small and large businesses, research and academic institutions, and international connections to ignite economic growth in Central Ohio.
The company’s 300 new jobs will include management, engineering, logistics and production opportunities. Hiring for the new positions will begin once the 130,000-square-foot expansion is completed, with an anticipated completion date of July 1, 2015.
