02/19/2019
"Not only will this investment allow RKW North America to tap into new markets," says Kenneth Budlong, General Manager of RKW North America, "it will also create new job opportunities and therefore strengthen the economy of the Franklin area."
According to company officials, the RKW Group's expansion plans for their North American Site include the construction of a new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility and investments in new, state-of-the-art equipment. RKW North America is also set to invest in comprehensive training for new employees. RKW North America employs about 100 people with plans to add 30 more associates.
Since 2010, RKW North America has been a part of the RKW Group, focusing on the production of high-performance technical films, officials said. Ever since, RKW has constantly invested in the technical endowment and staff qualification at its North American Site.
The plant's production capacities were expanded in 2006 through the addition of multi-layer extrusion technology to complement the product range. In 2012, RKW further increased its presence on the North American market by adding new capacity for the production of films for absorbent hygiene products.
