Mitsubishi To Build Arkansas Wind Turbine Plant
04/07/2010
Ichiro Fukue, senior vice president of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, said Mitsubishi selected the site because of the state and city's support of the project, the city's infrastructure, and the strategic location of the site to Mitsubishi's U.S. market and work force.
Within two years, Mitsubishi plans to buy locally up to 50 percent of the plant's components and supplies. Most of the other items will be purchased in the U.S.
Mitsubishi currently operates 3,000 wind turbines in the U.S., and 4,500 worldwide.
