Institute of Internal Auditors Expands Lake Mary, Florida Headquarters
01/10/2017
The IIA consolidated its global operations, which had been split between Lake Mary and Altamonte Springs, into 36,000 square feet of space at Northpointe II, 1035 Greenwood Blvd., Lake Mary. The organization now occupies the top two floors, as well as space on the first floor. The organization now has more than 200 employees in Lake Mary.
“Consolidating our operations in one location was an important goal for The IIA, and we are thrilled that we were able to make it happen in Lake Mary,” said IIA President & CEO Richard F. Chambers. “We are eager to begin this new chapter in The IIA’s 75-year history and look forward to many years of growth and success here.”
“The Institute of Internal Auditors is part of a long list of professional associations and organizations, like the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and the American Automobile Association, who have chosen Central Florida for their global headquarters,” said Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) Executive Vice President Crystal Sircy, “Our region offers the right mix of talent, infrastructure, and real estate options that make this an attractive place for business to locate and expand their headquarter operations.”
The Orlando EDC worked with the organization to provide connections to vital partners, including the State of Florida, Seminole County, and the City of Lake Mary and Enterprise Florida.
“The City of Lake Mary is overjoyed to be home to IIA headquarters,” said Lake Mary Mayor David Mealor. “The IIA’s global footprint is now centered in Lake Mary, and we stand ready to help The IIA continue its important work supporting all aspects of the internal audit profession. The retention of approximately 200 jobs speaks directly to Central Florida’s position as a heavy hitter among metropolitan labor markets. Lake Mary’s position in that mix is undeniably strong, and we think other professional associations will take note that Lake Mary can be an ideal home for them.”
