01/24/2014
"We are proud to partner with Anderson County, the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the city of Belton on this expansion," said Tom Mascari, Executive Vice President mechanical for Baldor. "Our customers expect us to provide them with more value than anyone else in our industry, and the employees we have in Belton do that each and every day. We believe this investment in our facility and our employees will allow us to continue taking care of customers all around the world from Belton, South Carolina."
Baldor, a member of the ABB group, is the largest industrial electric motor and mechanical power transmission company in North America. The company's Anderson County facility in Belton produces energy-saving gear reducers used in various kinds of industrial equipment. The firm plans generate 45 jobs during the next five years.
"Existing industry like Baldor continue to choose to increase their footprint in South Carolina, and that shows the strength of our business-friendly climate and strong workforce," said Gov. Nikki Haley. "We celebrate Baldor Electric Company's decision to invest $15 million and create 45 jobs in Anderson County."
"Manufacturing has long been one of our state's strengths, earning us the moniker 'beast of the Southeast'," said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. "Expansions like this one help keep South Carolina leading the East Coast in manufacturing GDP."
