ScanSource, Inc. Invests More Than $6 Million To Expand Greenville, South Carolina, Headquarters
10/26/2015
Approximately 650 employees work at the corporate headquarters campus at Logue Court off Pelham Road in Greenville. The newly announced expansion will convert approximately 30,000 square feet of warehouse space into office space for a growing sales force and support staff. Its latest expansion project is expected to be complete over the next five years.
“Our corporate headquarters in Greenville plays an important strategic role in our global business, as it enables us to centralize some processes and share best practices, while also supporting the local needs of each geography. This expansion will give us the capacity we need to accommodate the growth of the global business, while also providing a positive impact on the state of South Carolina,” ScanSource, Inc. CEO/Co-Founder Mike Baur said.
“We have been very successful over the years in recruiting from South Carolina colleges and universities, and are excited at the talent we know we will be bringing to ScanSource with the new jobs we are creating,” added ScanSource, Inc. Vice President of Worldwide Human Resources John Harvey.
According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, ScanSource has expanded its current Greenville County campus five times over the past 10 years, ultimately occupying over 175,000 square-feetin two buildings on more than 24 acres on Pelham Road. Likewise, each time ScanSource expands beyond South Carolina and the U.S., it has a positive impact on new jobs in the Upstate, as many support functions for the global corporation are provided in Greenville.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits, as well as a $150,000 Set Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of building up fit and site improvements related to the project.
“ScanSource has been a tremendous partner to our state since its doors opened in Greenville over two decades ago, and the news that this homegrown company is expanding here again is a real reason to celebrate. ScanSource’s decision to create an additional 100 jobs at its corporate headquarters is a huge win for South Carolina, and we look forward to watching this company continue to grow and thrive here for a very long time,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
