First Quality Baby Products Invests More Than $25 Million To Expand Its Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Manufacturing Center
03/19/2014
On its website the company said “This expansion will enable our Company to increase our manufacturing and warehousing capacity in our Absorbent Hygiene division.”
“By partnering with the private sector, we’re creating a stronger Pennsylvania where our economy is growing and people are finding jobs,” Governor Tom Corbett said. “We are encouraging new growth by providing critical access to capital to support 150 new jobs in Mifflin County.”
As an incentive, the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority will provide a $2,250,000, 15-year, low-interest loan at 2.25 percent to Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation on behalf of First Quality Baby Products, LLC.
PIDA is an independent authority staffed and regulated through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The Authority provides capital for building acquisition, construction and renovation work, primarily for manufacturers, industrial developers, research and development firms, agricultural processors and employers looking to establish national or regional headquarters in Pennsylvania.
Last month, Governor Corbett announced that he has directed the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to reduce the interest rates a few of its business loan programs to encourage small business and manufacturing growth and new job creation including PIDA loans.
