Hooey Brands Retools Manufacturing at Crowell, Texas, Plant to Produce Cloth Face Masks
04/13/2020
The company said its t-shirts will be repurposed for fabric. Cap components will be repurposed for straps and seams. Hooey will donate to healthcare systems and first responders. Additional quantities will be available to the general public following the CDC’s most recent recommendation that the general public wear cloth face coverings. Any profits generated will be used to create more additional units to be donated to medical personnel.
"Like everyone else, we've been searching for a way to contribute,” said Joey Austin, Hooey Brands Founder and President. “Converting the factory to produce cloth face masks is our way to help our employees help the country. In these unprecedented times, we’re best served when we’re creative and stay positive."
The factory is currently re-engineering its production line and plans to have masks available within two weeks.
