Tucker Auto-Mation Invests $2 Million To Expand In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Region

A firm that designs, manufactures and sells pedestrian automatic doors for the commercial business sector, Tucker Auto-Mation, will expand its operations in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area by acquiring 6- acres of land to construct a 10,000-square-foot site for its headquarters and manufacturing facility. The company will invest more than $2 million in the construction of its new facility and the purchase additional equipment, creating 25 new jobs.

“We have big plans of becoming a prominent automatic door manufacturer in North America and demonstrating that USA-made means top quality,” Patrick Mercier President/CEO of Tucker Auto-Mation said. “It is our goal to prove that anything is possible when you assemble the best people together.”

Established earlier this year, the company will initially expand operations at its current site in Allegheny County until the new building is complete in mid to late 2014 when the entire operation will move to Beaver County, according to Gov. Tom Corbett’s Office.

The company received funding from the Department of Community and Economic Development including a $25,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, $11,250 in Guaranteed Free Training, and a $250,000 loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund.

The company has also been encouraged to apply for a Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan in the amount of $750,000 through the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development.

“Tucker Auto-Mation provides the opportunity to increase manufacturing jobs and further diversify our manufacturing base,” James Palmer, President of Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development said. “We look forward to working with them to advance the project.”

Corbett said. “With our support and continued commitment to improving our business climate, Tucker will bring 25 new jobs to the greater Pittsburgh region.”
