The company’s Upstate operations will be located in the historic Kent Court Building, at 25 East Court Street, Suite 202, in downtown Greenville. As Kirchner’s first U.S. operations, this facility will effectively serve as the company’s U.S. headquarters, allowing Kirchner to meet the increasing demand of its American customers.
“Kirchner Design is excited to be a part of the automotive manufacturing sector rapidly expanding within the South Eastern region of the United States. With the help of Greenville County, the State and a highly-skilled local workforce, we believe that this will be a formula for success both for Kirchner and for the State of South Carolina,” said Kirchner Design Inc., Managing Director Christopher Henry.
Established in 1990, Kirchner is headquartered in Weingarten, Germany and operates three subsidiaries in its home country. The company also owns a 50 percent share in T-Mech Engineering, a Slovak engineering firm based in Trencin. With high-technology and high-efficiency operations, Kirchner utilizes a blend of expertise in CAD software to design specialized equipment solutions and on-site robot programming to automate the production lines.
“We’re excited to welcome Kirchner Konstruktionen to the South Carolina family. When an international company has the option to move anywhere in the world and they choose to do business in South Carolina, it speaks to the hardworking people who make up our workforce and our reputation as an ideal place to do business. We look forward to this new partnership with Kirchner Konstruktionen and look forward to watching them grow and succeed here,” Governor Nikki Haley said.
“A testament to the global reputation our world-class workforce has earned, more than 115,000 South Carolinians are currently employed by foreign-affiliated companies. Today, we celebrate Kirchner Konstruktionen’s decision to establish its U.S. headquarters in our state, putting its faith in our renowned workforce. As a result, I look forward to watching them succeed here for many years to come,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
“Kirchner is certainly a leader in the automotive industry; but more importantly, they are a technology innovator “Kirchner will bring the type of high-tech job opportunities that excite the local workforce,” said Greenville Area Development Corporation Chairman Dick Wilkerson.
