TIMCO Aerosystems Opening Wallburg, North Carolina, Production Facility

09/28/2010
TIMCO Aerosystems has announced plans to open a passenger seat production facility in Wallburg, North Carolina. The company will invest $2.75 million and create 275 jobs in the next five years. The state's Job Development Investment Grant program and One North Carolina Fund are supporting the project.

"We undertook a comprehensive assessment of various locations around the country for the expanded facilities," said Kevin Carter, co-CEO of TIMCO. "At the end of the day, the impressive partnership of the Governor, the State Legislature, the North Carolina Department of Commerce, North Carolina Community Colleges, Davidson County, and the Town of Wallburg, recognized the opportunity before us and really worked hard with our team on a compelling plan to take advantage of something that doesn't come along frequently in the aerospace industry."

The One North Carolina Fund will provide TIMCO with a $200,000 grant. And the state's Economic Investment Committee will award the company a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG).

The Wallburg facility will produce interior components of aircraft cabins, including TIMCO's FeatherWeight line of fuel-saving products.
