Northern Architectural Systems Opens Upstate New York Plant
Area Development Online News Desk (04/16/2010)
Northern Architectural Systems opened a new, 50,000-square-foot facility yesterday in Johnstown, New York, creating 50 jobs. Parent company Northern Building Products expanded their operations of the wall systems subsidiary due to economic incentives and the opportunity to manufacture goods for a growing number of buildings in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region seeking LEED certification.

“The Empire Zone benefits will really help us to employ even more skilled workers from the area as we grow,” said Robert J. Pecorella, Northern’s president. “Working where you live is a basic tenet of the green movement.”

The facility will produce energy-saving, customized aluminum windows, doors, and wall systems that are installed in low- to high-rise residential, commercial, government, and public-use buildings.
