Actuant Investing $15 Million, Creating 140 Jobs in Wisconsin
Area Development Online News Desk (08/21/2009)
Actuant, a diversified manufacturer of industrial and engineering components, will invest $15 million to create a new corporate campus in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin governor's office. The company plans to consolidate several area facilities at the new site, and will create 140 new jobs and retain 650 existing positions. "This is a logical expansion for Actuant as we seek to gain efficiencies by consolidating our North American electrical businesses and several business units and administrative operations," says Robert Arzbaecher, Actuant's chair and CEO. "We are proud to make this commitment to continue to grow our business in Southeast Wisconsin. We are pleased with the support we received from both the state of Wisconsin and the village of Menomonee Falls to expand here and retain and create more jobs in the community." The Business Journal of Milwaukee reports that the company will receive an incentives package of more than $6.2 million: a $1.5 million forgivable loan and $1.75 million in tax credits from the state, and approximately $3 million in property tax relief from local governments.
