General Mills Expands Hannibal, Missouri, Production Operations
12/03/2024
The investment will include the addition of an Old El Paso hard-shell taco production line, increased square footage, and infrastructure improvements.
“Hannibal is a key manufacturing facility for General Mills and this latest investment will enable us to expand our footprint and grow our plant community,” said Tim Johnson, General Mills Plant Manager. “We are extremely proud of our contributions to the local community and look forward to what the future has in store.”
To support the project General Mills will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation. In addition, the company may receive assistance from Missouri One Start, a division of the Department of Economic Development. Missouri One Start assists eligible businesses with their recruitment and training needs.
“DED is pleased to support General Mills as it continues to grow and help Missourians prosper in Hannibal,” noted Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. “We’re thrilled that General Mills is continuing to thrive and create good-paying jobs for Missourians and their families.”
General Mills’ Hannibal manufacturing facility produces food products across multiple categories and brands, including Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Old El Paso, and Progresso.
“We are thrilled to see General Mills continue to invest in the Hannibal plant,” added Maria Kuhns, Executive Director of the Hannibal Regional Economic Development Council. “This expansion is yet another chapter in a history of collaboration between General Mills and local and state governments to bring quality jobs and investment to our community. General Mills is an integral part of the Hannibal region, and we’re proud they recognize Hannibal’s long-term potential and continue to make it a key part of their success.”
