Sofidel Group Expands Circleville, Ohio, Tissue Production Operations
06/27/2023
The new 1.4 million-square-foot production plant, located south of the company’s current location in Circleville, will enable the Sofidel to better meet the massive increase in demand for their products.
“The U.S. is the most important market in the tissue-paper industry, so selecting an ideal facility location was critical to our continued growth in American markets,” said Luigi Lazzareschi. “Our success has been Ohio’s success, and I appreciate the ongoing partnership with Pickaway County, the city of Circleville, One Columbus, and JobsOhio to help make it happen. The demand for our products is only outweighed by the immeasurable dedication and hard work of our employees, and we’re excited to expand our footprint in the Columbus Region.”
JobsOhio, One Columbus, and the Pickaway Progress Partnership worked closely with Sofidel in 2016 to support their first greenfield investment in the United States in Circleville.
“Manufacturers worldwide have found a winning formula in Ohio, where they continue to grow and succeed,” noted JobsOhio president and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “Sofidel’s decision to expand in Pickaway County after exceeding its original commitment further validates the value proposition of Ohio for overseas manufacturers looking to thrive in the U.S. market.”
Sofidel is an Italian multinational producer of tissue paper for sanitary and domestic use. The company is one of the world leaders in the tissue paper market and the second largest producer in Europe behind Essity.
