JD Squared Will Invest $6.5 Million To Expand In Johnson City, Tennessee
09/19/2014
The firm manufactures tubing benders and notchers. The company is looking at creating two new product lines that will require more room to build, along with hiring new employees.
“We are very excited about moving into a larger facility that will accommodate our expanding product lines,” JD Squared Vice President Kim Hughes said. “We hope to be in the new facility by the summer of 2015. We will be moving our present employees to that facility as well as hiring for the new product lines expected later in 2015.”
“JD Squared is the perfect example of the kind of business that thrives here in Tennessee, as we work every day to assist incumbent businesses in their strategies for expansion and continued growth,” Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty said. “After moving their company to Washington County from Florida, JD Squared has flourished in our state, while creating demand for their unique and affordable products around the world. I welcome their drive for further growth and appreciate these new jobs they are creating in Johnson City.”
“JD Squared’s expansion highlights our focus on economic development and confirms the importance of keeping job creation a priority,” Johnson City Mayor Ralph Van Brocklin said. “We are excited about the economic impact that these new jobs will have on our region.”
"TVA applauds JD Squared on its plans to expand operations and create new jobs in Johnson City," TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said.
