Businesses in Fraser And Ann Arbor, Michigan, Plan Expansion with State Incentives
10/25/2018
“These projects will lead to new business growth and good jobs for our talented workforce in key industry sectors,” said Jeff Mason, CEO, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the state’s chief marketing and business attraction arm that administers programs and performs due diligence on behalf of the MSF. “We’re pleased to work with our local partners and support these investments to further build the economy in Southeast Michigan.”
In one major project at Fraser Industrial Park, Healthmark Industries plans to construct a new facility that will expand its global headquarters along with its manufacturing and assembly operations.
The company develops and markets innovative solutions to aid healthcare facilities in their delivery of surgical instruments and other lifesaving medical devices to patients. Healthmark said its building expansion will enable it to accommodate increased production and employment requirements as a result of significant growth.
The project is expected to generate more than $12 million in private investment in the Fraser Industrial Park and create 139 jobs, resulting in a $1 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. As an incentive, the city of Fraser has offered a property tax abatement in support of the project.
“It is always gratifying to see an existing company like Healthmark Industries continue to grow in Macomb County,” said County Executive Mark A. Hackel. “We offer congratulations on their expansion and wish them continued success in the medical device industry.”
In Ann Arbor, Location Services, a premier provider of loss-mitigation outsourced solutions for the financial service industry, recently announced its growth and expansion through a strategic partnership with Allied Solutions, as well as the acquisitions of Auto Approve, MOXKOR and three industry recognized recovery agencies: Repossessors Inc., CARS Recovery Inc., and American Recovery Specialists of Florida. The partnership and acquisitions establish Location Services as a vertically integrated national direct loss mitigation service provider.
As a result of this growth, Location Services plans to expand its operations in Pittsfield Township. The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of more than $1 million and create 106 jobs, resulting in a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.
“Location Services is poised to be the national leader in loss mitigation services and will continue to grow through acquisition and organically,” said Eric Gerdes, President & COO. “As a local resident, I am extremely excited to be expanding in this location given the talent base and work ethic of the potential employees from Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities.
“The addition of Location Services in Ann Arbor is yet another testament to our region’s reputation as a hotbed of talent and growth,” said Paul Krutko, Ann Arbor SPARK President & CEO. “We were thrilled to work with Location Services on securing the MEDC grant, as well as provide benchmarking reports and talent referrals. We look forward to continuing our collaboration as they grow in Pittsfield Township.”
