Whirlpool Begins Building $120M Cleveland, Tennessee, Facilities

11/12/2010
Whirlpool has begun construction on a $120 million appliance facility and distribution center in Cleveland, Tennessee, that it announced in September. The project is expected to create 130 jobs.

Whirlpool is "committed to investing in its U.S. manufacturing and distribution facilities," said company Chairman and CEO Jeff Fettig.

The company will close a facility that had been in operation for 100 years to build a 1 million-square-foot manufacturing plant and 400,000-square-foot distribution facility. Whirlpool has 1,500 employees in Cleveland.
