Smiths Detection Inc. Transfers Manufacturing Facility To Edgewood, Maryland

Smiths Detection Inc. reported it successfully transferred manufacturing of its RadSeeker, a next-generation, hand-held radiation detection and identification device, to its U.S. headquarters in Edgewood, Maryland. The company said its move is part of the company’s strategy to integrate its core technologies and centrally grow its product and engineering expertise.

SDI’s U.S. headquarters and home to its globally recognized training and service support center for the Americas is also located in Edgewood, Maryland. The company designs and makes advanced systems and solutions to detect and identify threats including explosives, chemical agents, biohazards, nuclear, radiation, narcotics, weapons and contraband. It manufactures specialized products and manages programs for customers such as the US Department of Defense and Homeland Security Agencies.
