PathSenors Relocates To Columbus Center In Baltimore, Maryland
04/08/2016
Using CANARY technology licensed from the MIT-Lincoln Laboratory, PathSensors “delivers extremely rapid detection of more than 25 pathogens at previously unattainable levels of speed and sensitivity, according to company officials.
The biotech company developed and commercialized MIT-LL technology enabling the highly reliable identification of airborne, surfaced-based and liquid-based pathogens. Government organizations and industry currently use these systems for monitoring, detection and identification of pathogens in biosecurity, mail screening, food processing, agriculture and environmental testing.
The Columbus Center, located at 701 East Pratt Street in Baltimore, is a teaching and research facility of the University System of Maryland. It houses the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology and Harbor Launch. PathSensors now occupies 4,000 square feet of laboratory, office, and manufacturing space at the Center. The new facilities represent a space increase of more than double over the University of Maryland BioPark, where the company was previously located.
IMET's Director Russell Hill is enthusiastic about PathSensors' move into the Columbus Center: "I've followed the growth and excellent progress of PathSensors over the past few years and am delighted to have them nearby. We expect to establish productive scientific collaborations with this impressive company."
