Valkyrie Enterprises Expands Its Virginia Beach, Virginia, Operations Center
05/20/2015
Founded in 2007, its customer base includes U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Naval Network Warfare Command, Navy Cyber Forces, Board of Inspection and Survey and many others.
The company, which occupies 25,000 feet at 4460 Corporation Lane, will expand by an additional 35,000 square feet and add 100 jobs. The new 100 full-time jobs will include project management, engineering designers, technical writers, trainers and related occupations.
“Valkyrie’s recent growth can be contributed to maintaining focus on our core mission of supporting the U.S. Navy warfighter,” said Gary Lisota, President/CEO of Valkyrie Enterprises.
“Our recent prime contract wins at NSWC-Philadelphia for logistics support, Norfolk Naval Shipyard for Planning Yard Design and Engineering services, and the Commander Naval Regional Maintenance Center, Navy Afloat Maintenance Strategy Program have been some of the key contributors to this year’s success,” he added. “Headquartering the company in Virginia Beach was a conscious choice. The city’s business partnerships, banking support and work/life tapestry have helped define Valkyrie as an employer of choice in an area where defense competition is plentiful.”
As an incentive, Virginia Beach Economic Development Authority has approved an Economic Development Investment Program grant in the amount of $100,000 based on the number of jobs created.
“Valkyrie Enterprises, LLC is one more example of how locally-grown companies are achieving incredible success from Virginia Beach,” said Warren D. Harris, Director of Virginia Beach Economic Development. “In today’s environment, technology companies have the option of locating their employees literally anywhere in the world. We’re excited knowing these high-paying STEM intensive positions will be filled by residents of our region.”
