Energy Efficiency a Top Concern for Businesses, Johnson Controls Says
06/03/2010
"These survey results indicate the growing importance on having efficient buildings that are cost effective and sustainable, "said Dave Myers, president of building efficiency at Johnson Controls. "Our business continues to work collaboratively with our customers to help them address their requirements and achieve measurable and desirable outcomes."
More than 90 percent of those surveyed said energy management was a top priority. The majority of respondents from India and China were more likely to consider energy efficiency a leading priority than business decision-makers in Europe and North America.
"Despite the recession, decision-makers have put efficiency high on their agendas for 2010, especially those in India and China," said Clay Nesler, vice president of global energy and sustainability for Johnson Controls. "It's encouraging to see that the financial returns and environmental benefits of energy efficiency investments are recognized in all regions around the world."
Cost savings was the top factor for energy efficiency investments, with 97 percent of respondents indicating the selection.
