What are some common misconceptions of smart grid technology?

It’s not so much misconception as no conception. At the macro scale, smart grid is a vague concept. Few people understand how far-reaching the modernization of the power grid will be. On the ground, smart grid includes products from electrical receptacles in the home with an addressable microchip, to massive storage batteries at power plants, and 10,000 other devices between. Collectively, we will see dramatic shifts in consumer behavior and the patterns of modern life.
