State Incentives Creates Thousand of Jobs Across Ohio

Ten businesses across the Buckeye State plan major expansion projects with Ohio Tax Credit Authority incentives, expected to create 2,279 new jobs and retain 924 jobs statewide.

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $100 million in new payroll, and spur more than $313 million in investments across Ohio, Governor John R. Kasich’s office said.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

In the northeast part of the state, Grocery retailer Aldi Inc. expects to create 66 full-time positions, generating $2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $8.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Hinckley Township (Medina County). The TCA approved a 1.014 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

HomeGoods, Inc, expects to create 1,000 full-time positions, generating $27 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the Village of Lordstown (Trumbull County).The TCA approved a 1.404 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

In the northwest part of the state, Keystone Foods expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $9.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Bloom Township. The TCA approved a 1.153 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

The the central part of the state, Dollar Tree Distribution, Inc., expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $12.8 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Bennington Township (Morrow County). Dollar Tree Distribution provides distribution and warehouse services for Dollar Tree and Family Dollar retail stores. The TCA approved a 1.262 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Air Waves expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $1.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Orange Township (Delaware County). Air Waves is an on-demand e-commerce apparel company. The TCA approved a 0.924 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Fast Switch, LTD., expects to create 75 full-time positions, generating $6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $19.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Dublin (Franklin County). Fast Switch is an information technology staffing and recruiting firm. The TCA approved a 1.625 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

IBOD Company, Inc., expects to create 463 full-time positions, generating $38.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $9.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Mansfield (Richland County). IBOD Company is the parent of Root Insurance, an insurance technology company providing property and casualty insurance. The TCA approved a 2.38 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Import Products Co. Inc. expects to create 35 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Grove City (Franklin County). IPC provides manufacturing and fulfillment of filtration technology. The TCA approved a 1.088 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

William R. Hague, Inc. expects to create 70 full-time positions, generating $1.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $4.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Cities of Groveport and Obetz (Franklin County). Hague Quality Water manufactures water softener products. The TCA approved a 0.923 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

The Heitmeyer Group expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $6.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in a to-be-determined location. The Heitmeyer Group is a staffing and consulting firm. The TCA approved a 1.699 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
