New Aerospace Investments in Quebec
Quebec is home to aerospace giants like Bombardier, CAE, and Bell Helicopter Textron.
Location Canada 2011
Thales Canada's Aerospace division in Montreal will be investing $43.3 million in an R&D project to develop electronic flight control systems. These innovative systems will not only slash aircraft operating costs, but also lower fuel consumption, substantially improve aircraft performance, and reduce the company's carbon "skyprint." The project will be carried out in collaboration with the province's Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace.
And French company Cobalt Aircraft will be establishing a facility in Saguenay to assemble and market its Cobalt Co50, a Cessnatype aircraft that can reach speeds of up to 454 kilometers an hour. Some 70 jobs will ultimately be created at this new facility.
