New Hudson Facades To Establish A Manufacturing Center In Linwood, Pennsylvania
01/16/2015
“M. Cohen and Sons has operated as a successful business and strong employer in Delaware County for more than 80 years,” says Allen Cohen, President of M. Cohen and Sons and Part-Owner of New Hudson Facades. “We are very excited to embark on this new venture with Related Companies, and we take tremendous pride in the fact that, in partnership with Governor Corbett’s Administration, we will bring this sophisticated work and many more jobs to our own community.”
New Hudson Facades is a joint venture between Related Companies, a privately-owned real estate firm in the United States, and M. Cohen and Sons Inc. a fourth generation Delaware County based manufacturer concentrated in high end, fine metal and glass products for commercial, residential, healthcare, educational and retail industries.
“Our commitment to creating a pro-growth economic environment is leading to the manufacturing industry bringing more investment and more jobs to Pennsylvania,” Governor Tom Corbett said. “Our partnership with New Hudson Facades further supports this on-going growth through the creation of 168 new jobs.”
The company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development including a $500,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant that facilitates investment and job creation, $504,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits, a $75,000 WEDnetPA grant to train its workforce, and a $2 million loan from Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with the Delaware County Commerce Center. The company has also been encouraged to apply for the funding offer as well as a $1,939,000 low-interest loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund.
“We are pleased to partner with Governor Corbett and his administration to bring new jobs to Delaware County,” said Bruce A. Beal, Jr., President of Related Companies. “As one of the largest private developers in the nation, we have traditionally had to look outside of the United States to source curtain wall systems. We are thrilled to bring industry, manufacturing, and jobs back to America with this new domestic facility in Linwood.”
