American Customer Care Lays Off 165 Wisconsin Employees

Call center company American Customer Care Inc. announced that it will close its Platteville, Wisconsin call center by July 1, eliminating 165 jobs. The company, which is based in Bristol, Connecticut, told the state on Friday that it will begin layoffs on June 8. The loss of a large client prompted the closure.

American Customer Care hopes to re-open the facility if it can recoup lost business. If not, the closure will be permanent. The company has more than 2,000 employees at 10 locations.
