Southern Current Builds Solar Facility Near Jackson, South Carolina

“Southern Current is thrilled to be working with Aiken County. The economic development team has a strong track record for supporting the growth of the clean energy revolution, and we’re excited to become a part of the community. These types of partnerships are continuing to show the country what makes our state so great,” said Southern Current Chief Development Officer Paul Fleury.
“Our approach to creating a business-friendly environment for all types of companies continues to pay off, and Southern Current’s new investment in Aiken County is a testament to that. I look forward to seeing the impact that the renewable energy industry will have in the region and across the state,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
“The renewable energy market is increasingly a major driver of South Carolina’s economy, and today’s announcement in Aiken County is a further testament to that. I congratulate Southern Current on this latest $20 million project and wish them continued success,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt explained.
“We are pleased that Southern Current chose Aiken County for its newest solar farm. This is a significant investment, one that highlights the attractiveness of Aiken County for green energy projects,” said Aiken County Council Chairman Gary Bunker.
“The Economic Development Partnership is pleased to welcome Southern Current to Aiken County. Clean, renewable energy projects in our region are on the rise, and it’s exciting to have an industry leader like them call Aiken County home,” said Economic Development Partnership Chairman Gary Stooksbury.
