07/19/2013
This unit of General Dynamics manufactures of large, medium- and small-caliber direct and indirect-fire munitions, mortar weapons and systems, artillery projectiles, bomb bodies and Ball Powder Propellant. The company also manufactures precision metal components; provides explosive load, assemble and pack services for a variety of munitions, tactical missile and rocket programs; and designs and produces shaped charge.
The state-of-the-art center is designed to meet the rigorous standards of the Missile Defense Agency for a "clean room" production environment. It will house the company's manufacturing operations for advanced electro-mechanical actuation systems used in a variety of guided projectiles and missiles. General Dynamics supplies proportional control actuation systems to a number of defense contractors.
"The opening of this facility is an example of General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems' continued growth and expertise in developing and producing sophisticated components for next-generation missile programs," said Dan Paul, vice president and general manager of Precision Systems for the company. "This operations expansion reinforces our commitment to serve the missile defense industry using innovative technology combined with a proven and reliable production capability."
The General Dynamics Healdsburg Operations is a developer, manufacturer and integrator of electro-mechanical servo-control actuation systems for the U.S. armed forces and missile-defense industry. The Healdsburg operations produce some of the highest power-density actuators in the world for applications on land, sea and air.
