Whyte Foods Expands to Wallaceburg, Ontario

Whyte’s Foods, a company that produces pickles, spices, peppers and relish products, will invest $16.5 million to open a state-of-the-art production plant in Wallaceburg, Ontario. The company plans to create 100 jobs at the southern part of the province in the municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The company will relocate into an existing 140,000 square foot building at 6800 Baseline Road, with plans to open fall 2019.

Elisabeth Kawaja, company President, said told a gathering that the area’s robust agricultural sector is robust and ideal, “We are as excited as you about this investment.” She added the Chatham-Kent Government has been very helpful and the area has a strong labor force.

In addition, the company also plans to expand its headquarters plant location in Ste-Rose, Quebec, investing $1.5 million in infrastructure and technological improvements.
