Ontic Plans Miramar, Florida, MRO Operations

11/07/2024
Aerospace parts manufacturer Ontic plans to establish operations in Miramar, Florida. The $10 million project is expected to create 88 jobs.

The new 64,000-square-foot MRO Centers of Excellence will focus on supporting customers of the company’s manufactured parts and systems. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2025.

“Opening this eighth Ontic site is another exciting milestone in our growth,” said Jack Karapetyan, Vice President of Ontic’s Global MRO Operations. “Florida was the natural choice for our expansion as it is already an MRO hub with ample skilled labor and a business-friendly environment, which also acts as a gateway to South American markets. I’m excited by this investment that will build and grow our MRO operations and enable us to become a benchmark for other MRO centers in the industry.” He added, "It was great to work with FPL, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, when going through the location selection stage for our new center. The introduction to local agents, their engagement in gathering local economic data, and their support in understanding incentives available to Ontic aided our selection process and helped us make the right choices. This coupled with the availability of a qualified workforce, supported by Broward College and CareerSource Florida, clearly demonstrated why the City of Miramar has become a hub for aerospace and helped solidify our choice of Miramar for our important expansion.”

Ontic is a global aerospace OEM providing engineered parts & repair services in the defense and commercial market.

“Congratulations, Ontic, on your expansion to Florida and thank you for choosing Miramar and Broward County. Your decision underscores our community’s proud reputation as a premier destination for MRO business and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome you,” noted Bob Swindell, President/CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward County’s official public/private partnership for economic development.
