Relativity Space Expands Cape Canaveral, Florida, Production Operations

Aerospace manufacturer Relativity Space plans to expand its operations in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The project will include the construction of a new Terran R production facility as well as the increase of test and launch support infrastructure across NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

“Expanding our capacity in Florida enables our ability to scale the Terran R program to support commercial, scientific, and national security missions,” said Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman and CEO of Relativity Space. “We're grateful to Gov. Ron DeSantis, Space Florida, FDOT, and our partners across the state for their ongoing support to make this expansion plan a reality.” To support the project Relativity Space will be eligible for an investment of up to $134 million through the Florida Department of Transportation's Spaceport Improvement Program.

Relativity Space designs, manufactures, and launches reusable rockets for commercial and government customers. The company is developing the Terran R, a reusable medium-to-heavy-lift launch vehicle designed to deliver satellites and other payloads to orbit for commercial, civil, and national security missions.
