Silco Fire & Security Plans Bullitt County, Kentucky, Operations

10/24/2026
Commercial fire protection and security services provider Silco Fire & Security plans to establish a new facility in Bullitt County, Kentucky. The $6.4 million project is expected to create 20 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a new facility that will consolidate the company's Louisville-area operations.

“This investment represents the next chapter of our growth in Kentucky,” said Silco Fire & Security President Dave Fraser. “We’ve built a strong team in the Louisville area by bringing together companies with decades of local experience, and this facility gives us the space and resources to continue investing in our people, serving our customers and growing in this market for years to come.”

To support the project, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved a 15-year incentive agreement with Silco Fire & Security through the Kentucky Business Investment (KBI) program. The performance-based agreement can provide up to $2 million in tax incentives, contingent upon the company investing at least $2.4 million and meeting annual targets for the creation and maintenance of at least 64 full-time jobs for Kentucky residents over the agreement term.

“The commonwealth’s historic economic momentum would not be possible without Kentucky companies’ continuing to reinvest in our employees and communities,” noted Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. “When businesses have the resources and support they need, it drives expansion projects that create quality job opportunities for Kentuckians across the state. The 64 jobs created from this project will add to the region’s strong workforce, and I look forward to the future success Silco has here in Kentucky.”

By meeting its annual performance requirements, the company may retain a portion of the new tax revenue generated by the project through incentives applied against its income tax liability and/or wage assessments. Silco Fire & Security may also receive assistance through Kentucky's workforce development programs, including no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job-training incentives.

“Working with the Pioneer Village City Council to bring this investment to the north end of our county shows how valuable a regional approach is. Silco Fire & Security will strengthen our community,” added Bullitt County Community & Economic Development Authority representative Keith Griffee.

Silco Fire & Security specializes in commercial fire protection, life safety and security systems. The company provides fire detection and suppression equipment, inspections, maintenance and related safety and security services for commercial and industrial customers.
