Forgent Power Solutions Plans Columbus, Ohio, Operations

11/03/2026
Electrical distribution equipment manufacturer Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. plans to establish operations in Columbus, Ohio. The $3 million project is expected to create 85 jobs.

The company’s new 90,000-square-foot office, located at 10 W. Nationwide Blvd., will support customer service, project management, supply chain operations, finance, human resources and corporate strategy.

“Forgent is scaling rapidly to meet growing demand for power infrastructure,” said Forgent CEO Gary Niederpruem. “Columbus offers exceptional talent and proximity to key customers, making it an ideal location for our continued growth. As an Ohio native, I’m proud to invest in a city that will play an important role powering the future.”

To support the project the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved a 1.877 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit.

“Forgent is deepening Ohio’s position in the supply chain for the electrical infrastructure powering data centers, utilities and advanced manufacturing,” noted JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This new Columbus operation will create high-value careers and build on the company’s existing Ohio presence, a strong foundation for Forgent to serve customers nationwide.”

Forgent Power Solutions specializes in the design and manufacturing of electrical distribution equipment for data centers, utilities and energy-intensive industrial facilities.

“Forgent operates at the convergence of digital infrastructure and the rising demand for power across the economy,” added One Columbus Chief Economic Development Officer and President Jonas Peterson. “By locating core corporate functions in Downtown Columbus, the company is positioning itself in a market where its customers are already investing at enormous scale. The decision deepens the Region’s energy and digital infrastructure economy while giving Forgent access to the talent required to sustain extraordinary growth.”
