Japan-Based Nissin International Transport Plans Franklin County, Kentucky, Distribution Operations

11/01/2026
Japan-based logistics company Nissin International Transport U.S.A., Inc. plans to establish operations in Franklin County, Kentucky. The $14.3 million project is expected to create 30 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a new distribution facility at Franklin County Industrial Park 3 that will provide warehousing, storage, unpacking, assembly support and logistics services for automotive parts and materials, primarily supporting Toyota-affiliated suppliers.

“Kentucky’s surging economy is powered by our incredible workforce, our key industries, and our business-friendly environment that makes us an ideal location for any company looking to locate a new operation,” said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. “Nissin joins a long list of international companies that recognize the value of doing business here in the commonwealth. I am excited to see 30 new jobs coming to Franklin County and the opportunities they provide for our hard-working Kentuckians and their families. I want to thank Nissin’s leadership for their belief in our great commonwealth and look forward to their future success.”

To support the project the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved a 10-year incentive agreement with the company under the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based agreement can provide up to $500,000 in tax incentives based on the company’s investment of $14.3 million and annual targets of: creation and maintenance of 30 Kentucky-resident, full-time jobs across 10 years; and paying an average hourly wage of $30 including benefits across those jobs.

By meeting its annual targets over the agreement term, the company can be eligible to keep a portion of the new tax revenue it generates. The company may claim eligible incentives against its income tax liability and/or wage assessments.

“As a global company with operations in more than two dozen countries, Nissin could have chosen to locate anywhere, and we are honored that they chose Franklin County as the location of their first Kentucky operation,” noted Develop Frankfort Executive Director Penny Peavler. “We are grateful to Nissin for recognizing not only the value of Frankfort’s location but also the strength of its people. We look forward to a long and productive partnership.”

Additionally, the company can receive resources from Kentucky’s workforce service providers. Those include no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job-training incentives.

Nissin International Transport U.S.A., a subsidiary of Nissin Corporation, specializes in international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing and supply chain logistics services.
