Furniture Maker Bringing 120+ Jobs to North Carolina

09/16/2009
Caye Home Furnishings LLC, a manufacturer of custom home furniture, will invest $1.4 million to open a new factory in Taylorsville, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The Mississippi-headquartered company will create 128 new jobs over the next three years at an average annual salary of $30,142 plus benefits. The Hickory Daily Record reports that Caye will renovate a 200,000-square-foot vacant former furniture factory and will manufacture living room furniture under the Stratford and Stratolounger brand names. "We chose to locate in this area because of the outstanding work force and business environment," says Wayne Stewart, Caye's executive vice president and CFO. "Our company continues to grow even during these challenging times, and we hope to have the plant operational within the next 30 to 45 days." The state will provide Caye with a $250,000 grant that must be matched by local governments.
